Finlay was developed from an idea we pitched to a children’s TV program in Germany. Though we didn’t win I couldn’t stop thinking about the design, wondering what the finished font would look like. Most obviously Finlay is a Script font, it also leans into a Humanist Sans-Serif as well as upright Italic letterforms. This combination gives Finlay its unique flavour, making it a friendly, warm, and utterly pleasant font. Finlay will not stir up conflict and division but will trigger cheer, handshakes (if you like those), and smiles.
