With an increasing number of violence against women in each category in India (77% rise from 2011 to 2019), public spaces are becoming less safer for women. The project focuses on immediate access to quickly inform and get help from other stakeholders during street harassment. Kawach is a service design that includes a safety app, a safety gadget (ring), and street lights to work together to ensure women’s safety in public spaces. The Indian government could be the service provider of Kawach with the first level of implementation in tier 1 cities.
