Inspired by the poem “Drinking Alone with the Moon” by Chinese Poet Li Bai, this experimental typography design expresses the juxtaposition of the tangible and intangible, virtual and real, through the use of printing technique and visual form. Inspired by the visual imagery of moonlight and the play between light and shadow, the type design references the waxing and waning of the moon. The use of black and white creates a contrast that also reflects the Taoism philosophy of being and nothing.
