My master’s thesis, Phantom Limbs: Design Interventions and Site-specific Storytelling, explores how the power of site-specific, projection-mapped environmental graphics can be used to tell the forgotten history of underrepresented communities in Pasadena, CA. At each specific site, thought-provoking facts, statements, and imagery are mapped onto the façades of the place. This project aims to depict the obscured stories in public as an engaging way to educate visitors and residents. It also provides a solution to activate underused sites, such as parking lots and alleyways.
