Inspired by a recent aggression a close friend experienced, the series of posters explored the idea of microaggressions people of colour face in their everyday life. The problem of microaggression is that it is subtle and are often disguised as compliments or innocent questions. Though some are meant to cause harm, many are unintentional. But targets of such comments suffer psychological distress, including an increase in symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder, and can face backlash if they speak up.
