This is the 2020 calandar commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Yokohama Museum of Art in Japan. It is designed based on the collections of Yokohama Museum of Art, including the works of Pablo Picasso and Isamu Noguchi, considering that a museum as a symbol of art and culture. The simple composition expressed in monotone typography creates a minimalistic world that is compatible with the art museums while symbolizing the artworks. By changing the cutting positions, the shape that allows to list the artists' names also functions as a catalogue.
For us, design is about sharing what brings us joy. Through the act of making that is design, such as graphic, editorial, signs, and corporate identity design, we had the opportunity to encounter amazing people as well as projects. Not a single one of them, however, could have been completed solely by us. Design takes shape through the collaboration and the words that are exchanged with many other people. We want to share in that joy too. This is what we believe design to be.
