As the need for ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic became desperate, the COVID-19 Ventilator Rapid Response Team devised a bold, ingenious way to help address the shortage: repurpose sleep apnea machines as ventilators for hospitals overwhelmed by COVID-19 patients. W2O and Mission North developed an earned communications strategy and secured local and top-tier media. W2O also developed new creative, web design and a digital campaign and brokered a relationship with the AHA to connect to hospitals in need of ventilators and partnerships with large technology companies.

Founded by Jim Weiss in 2001 and built on an ethos of entrepreneurship, staying fluid and doing the right thing, W2O has achieved 18 years of uninterrupted growth while remaining fiercely independent. W2O is an alchemic mix of 1,400 people and hundreds of clients and partners – working from bench to bedside – to make the world a healthier place. Driven by data, W2O applies proprietary analytics and best-in-class technology to build insights that power creative ideas and concepts. W2O seeks to become the partner of choice to empower optimal healthcare knowledge, access and outcomes.
