This project lead me to spin a Galway fleece into yarn, cut down a tree by hand, and travel out to the Aran Islands — to handle the soil of Inis Mór. The aim of this project was to better understand my identity as an Irish designer. I documented from scratch, the processes behind three traditional Irish crafts and also attempted to make the objects themselves. I then identified the traits that make a polished craftsperson, reflected on my own self-development and realisation; that were awoken through working with the materials, and applied these observations to my own creative process.
