• Are you a non-native English speaker finding it challenging to employ the English expressions you’ve learned in real conversations?• Do you feel that you don’t know the trending topics among native speakers and it’s hard to engage in deeper conversations with them?• Do you want to make note-taking and review (for improving English) easier and more effective?Paddle is an educational app for non-native English speakers who want to improve English and use the language more often in real life. I spent 12 weeks to research and design the independent project from the ground up.

I’m Yue (Karlie). I have a background in Landscape Architecture (Master of Landscape Architecture, University of Washington, Seattle). I’m also a (self-educated) user experience designer. I find passion in the discipline because it constantly challenges me to think, raise questions, and find solutions. I love UX design also because it encourages me to talk to more people, listen to diverse opinions, and think from different perspectives.
