Meet the Jury
Our jury panel is comprised of an international pool of creative industry professionals from art and creative directors, curators, publishers and other influential luminaries.
Daniel Cheng is a Boston native who has been working in marketing and design for 12 years in Shanghai. He is the founder and creative director of the award-winning digital agency Metric Design Studio (MDS). By combining expertise in the digital landscape in China with strong technical skills, MDS is able to fill the void between marketing and design. Their diverse range of clients have spanned from fashion powerhouses such as MaxMara and Kipling, to luxury hospitality chains such as Shangri-la Hotels, Tonino Lamborghini Hotels, and LUX* Resorts.
Daniel Cheng has been featured in various media publications, including Architectural Digest, Surface, SmartShanghai, Car and Driver, That’s Shanghai, Expat Startup, and City Weekend.
Daniel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BSc in Environmental Design and was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship. He speaks English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Daniel spends his free time playing with his rescue dog and making pasta from scratch.
